The ‘San Francesco’ farm is located in Tramonti, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Established in 2004 on the initiative of three historical Costiere families, Bove, D’Avino and Giordano, it extends over a total area of about 8 hectares. The company’s pride and joy are four hectares of vineyard area, represented by centuries-old, pre-phylloxera vines, in which the tintore, aglianico and piedirosso varieties are cultivated, which present themselves in all their majesty in the form of centuries-old, free-footed plants with large, winding stems. Other cultivated varieties are falanghina, biancolella, pepella and ginestra. And it is precisely the safeguarding and revalorisation of indigenous vines, such as Tintore, that has led to the winery being awarded the Slow Food ‘Slow Wine’ snail for five years, an ethical example in the recovery and further valorisation of the territory. This wine has a deep ruby red colour and is characterised by its elegant freshness and minerality. The nose expresses hints of berries, violets, spicy notes and tobacco. The taste is balanced, easy-drinking, fresh and with good persistence.
