Owned by the Miklus family for three generations, Draga Winery is located in one of the most highly regarded areas for viticulture: the Collio.

The vineyard spans 15 hectares at an altitude of around 300 meters and is divided into two plots: Draga and Breg. The vines are trained using the Cappuccina and Guyot methods and grow in a soil locally called “ponka”, composed of Eocene-era marl and sandstone, rich in microelements that give the wines their aroma, elegance, and minerality. The vineyard is fully grass-covered and cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment, without the use of herbicides. The yield per hectare is kept very low to ensure the highest grape quality. In line with tradition, most vineyard work is done by hand.

Draga Winery has developed two production lines:

  • The classic Draga line, offering fresh, aromatic wines made exclusively with stainless steel vinification and aging.

  • The Miklus line, which includes more structured wines with strong personality, produced using wooden containers, skin maceration, and long contact of the must with the lees.

Aging and Maturation: About 7 months in contact with the lees in stainless steel tanks, always at controlled temperature. The wine is filtered and bottled.

Vinification: The grapes are gently destemmed and crushed, cooled to 8–10°C, and macerated on the skins for 24 hours. After gentle pressing, alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks with temperature controlled between 16 and 18°C.
