The Draga winery has been run for generations by the Miklus family, who cultivate their vineyards—entirely grass-covered—with the utmost respect for the environment and, above all, for the consumer, without the use of herbicides.
The estate extends around the winery in the best areas of the Collio, divided into two parcels:
Draga: The vineyards are planted in the sunniest area at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level and have always produced excellent harvests.
Breg: The vineyards are planted at an altitude of 220 meters above sea level and surround the winemaking cellar. They are also sun-exposed but battered by stronger winds, a setting that favors the hardiest grape varieties. Production is very low, ranging from 40 to 70 quintals per hectare, in order to ensure the highest grape quality. Most vineyard work—such as harvesting, thinning, and grape selection—is carried out by hand, in keeping with tradition and above all due to the steep slopes.
The color is straw yellow. The bouquet is mainly characterized by aromas of fresh fruit, particularly citrus fruits. On the palate it is fresh, lively, well balanced, and harmonious.
