ARPEPE’s Rosso di Valtellina DOC was born in 2003, during a scorching summer — an extremely difficult season for both our winegrowers and our vines. It didn’t seem fair to diminish such hard work by selling the grapes cheaply, as they were not suitable for long-aging vinifications. The choice came naturally: what may have little value in the distant future can be elevated in its youth. Thus, Rosso di Valtellina developed a free-spirited and light-hearted character, even though its more serious and refined older siblings doubted its aging potential.
A family of winegrowers dedicated for over 150 years to cultivating Nebbiolo — a rare grape variety that has, over centuries, adapted to Valtellina: a unique land where everything is still done by hand.

An elegant, medium-bodied red wine with immediate and delightful drinkability, yet suitable for important occasions as well. The color is garnet red but not deeply intense. On the nose, it expresses aromas of wild berries, flowers, and spicy notes. On the palate, it is silky, harmonious, fresh, and well-balanced.
