Fradiles, which means cousins in Sardinian, was born from a family bond deeply rooted in this land, in the very heart of Sardinia.
PRODUCTION AREA
The vineyards are located in the heart of Mandrolisai, a hilly region about 550 meters above sea level, in the municipality of Atzara, on the western side of the Gennargentu mountain range.
SOIL TYPE
Soil of granitic origin, medium-textured with a tendency toward sandy composition.
GRAPE VARIETY
Mandrolisai D.O.C.: a territorial appellation composed of the following indigenous grape varieties: Bovale Sardo (Muristellu), Cannonau, Monica, and others.
TRAINING SYSTEM
Bush-trained (alberello) and trellised (spalliera) vines.
PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE
The grapes, harvested in October, are vinified together. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with a skin maceration of about 8–10 days. The wine is processed in stainless steel and then matured partially in 750 and 500-liter wooden barrels for about 10 months, with the rest remaining in steel.
TASTING NOTES
A ruby red wine with a lingering bouquet featuring notes of wild berries and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is savory, well-balanced, and smooth.
