Cascina Vanotu located on the intersection of the three municipalities of the Barbaresco area: Treiso, Barbaresco (where we also have a small farmhouse) and Neive, medium-textured soil with a rich limestone component suitable for making very aromatic and very varietal wines. Thanks to the particular microclimate and the position enjoyed by this land, it is possible to obtain wines of great character and great personality even in small vintages. The will is to make an innovative wine trying to maintain and exalt the great qualities of Nebbiolo to the maximum. The first vintage bottled was 1960. The intense and broad color of a beautiful ruby red is expressed on the nose with fruity notes of raspberry and cherry accompanied and well harmonized with mellow woody notes such as vanilla. The aromatic frame in addition to the typical notes of rose is completed with notes of sage, mint, thyme, chamomile, constant over the years so as to almost constitute the trademark of this soil. In the mouth it is velvety, broad and enveloping with sweet and persistent tannins. The great polyphenolic structure of Nebbiolo and the right tannic acid ratio of this wine are certainly synonymous with long aging.
