Originating from the Tignanello Vineyard, this is a specialty product made in limited quantities, created to express the fragrances and aromas of grapes grown in Chianti soil through a fine and aromatic distillate.
Tignanello Grappa is obtained from the distillation of pomace from Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes harvested in the Tignanello vineyard, located on the Tignanello Estate in the heart of Chianti Classico. The fermented pomace is transferred to the distillery immediately after the fermentation vats are emptied (a process known as racking) and the grapes are pressed. This process ensures that only the finest pomace—rich in alcohol and, most importantly, in aromatic compounds—is used for distillation. Among the various batches of grappa produced from the distillation of different lots of pomace, only the best ones—the most refined and aromatic—are selected, blended, and bottled. Tignanello Grappa is available in limited quantities.
